The Rat Pack's Back - and back again by popular demand!

The Rat Pack were asked back again to entertain guests for a family party in Hertfordshire and boy what a party it was. They had previously performed for the same client 4 years ago and had been such an enormous success that they were invited back again.  The trio performed with an 8 piece backing band and sang all the well-known Rat Pack songs that had made Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr so popular.  They are brilliant performers and entertained not just with their immaculate vocals  but also with their witty comments and jokes.  The room was transformed by the use of subtle up-lighters and table centres with giant blue ostrich feathers placed in tall lit vases. Added to this there was a delicious dinner with fine wines  thus ensuring that every guest had a truly memorable evening.

Christmas Parties

Christmas seems to come round faster each year and 2013 was no exception.  We were literally rushed off our feet with parties and receptions with all kinds of different entertainment on offer to help the festive season go with a bang.  Not only did we have the usual DJs and bands, mix and mingle acts and gospel singers, but we had  casino parties, cowboy themed events, golden living statues, mind readers, singing waiters, acrobats  pearly kings and queens, Santa and naughty Christmas elves  and even John Blashford-Snell put in an appearance - the variety was huge!

A lovely family party at Le Gavroche

The family hired the whole of Le Gavroche for their celebratory party and even Michel Roux Jr was on hand in the kitchen and to explain to the guests how the evening's menu had been put together.  It was no wonder then what our pianist was asked whether he wanted the same meal as the guests or to eat in the staff room that he chose the first option. Musicians don't usually get treated to such a delight with crew meals and out-mess, but when it does happen it is a real bonus.

Carol Singers outside Hamley's Toy Store

Hamley's kicked off the festive season early at their flagship Regent Street store, with Carol Singers to welcome customers as they browsed for presents and ideas for Christmas.  The singers were dressed in Victorian Costume just to add to the atmosphere and they gave great renditions of  all the usual well known carols and Christmas tunes such as White Christmas, Away in a Manger and Ding Dong Merrily on High.

Diwali Event at Stationers' Hall

Diwali was celebrated in style this week with an stunning event at Stationers' Hall for a law firm and their clients.  The rooms were decked out in jewel colours with low sofas and cushions and lanterns and flower petals strewn across the floor making the overall effect truly amazing.  There was a sitar and tabla player positioned on a raised dais, a henna artist and graphologist doing readings for the guests. Added to this we had beautiful girls modelling exquisite saris and the guests could have a trying on session when they were given demonstrations on how the saris should be worn. Even the men joined in wearing shewanis and turbans!

Halloween Party

Halloween is getting bigger every year in the UK and the kids (and even some of the adults) really make a big thing of it whether it is holding a party or dressing up and going trick or treating.  We provided a number of acts over the Halloween season this year including face painters, witch and wizard children's entertainers and giant games.

Race Night

Race nights are a fun way to entertain guests and also a good way to raise money if it is a charity event.  We provided a Race night for a joint birthday party at a venue near Duxford in Cambridgeshire and the guests had great time putting the bets on the horses and raising money for a local charity

Fake Paparazzi are a great way to meet and greet your guests as they arrive and even better when they happen to be professional photographers. when the client received the photos a few days after the event she send us these comments:

75th Birthday Party with a Brazillian Twist

Just about the whole family attended this event with many flying in from Rio to celebrate a 75th birthday.  The band learnt some special songs for the occasion and by the end of the day just about everyone was joining in singing.

Marilyn Monroe look-alike

Another surprise birthday party and this time we had our top Marilyn Monroe look-alike to suddenly appear to entertain the guests with songs such as 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend'

Suprise 40th Birthday Treat for 1st October

We provided an 8 piece military marching band to surprise one lucky lady for her 40th birthday.  The band arrived outside her house at 10.00 am in the morning to play 'happy birthday' and some of her other favourite songs. Hopefully the neighbours were impressed!

London Welsh Male Voice Choir (again!)

The Ever Popular choir were booked for reception of American investment bankers who held their event at Spencer House.  The choir sang music from 'Les Mis' as well as Welsh Anthems and hymns and even finished with a rendition of Elvis Presley's 'An American Trilogy'

Singing Waiters triumph again

Opera on the Run performed for a wedding at the Swan Hotel in Lavenham and wowed the guests with their outstanding operatic performance

London Welsh Male Voice Choir

What a treat we had in store at Lincoln' Inn on Monday night when we had members of the London Welsh Male Voice choir entertaining the Royal Bank of Canada.  The performance was so moving that it actually brought tears to the eyes of many of the guests.

1920's themed Christmas Parties with Life's Kitchen

Caterers Life's Kitchen have been working tirelessly at many of the Livery Halls this Christmas and one of the most popular themes has been to have 1920 style flapper dancers and the clients have been delighted with the specatacle that has been created

Halloween Parties

The end of October is always the time for Halloween parties and we have been busy entertaining children with our  entertainers, ghostly ghouls, face painters and games

James Bond 007 Night at the Westminster Park Plaza

With the new James Bond film, Skyfall, having its premiere tomorrow night at the Royal Albert Hall we have had a lot of interest in Bond themed parties and events. With this in mind we have put together a band that can play nearly all the theme tunes from the Bond movies and this was performed at the Westminster Park Plaza last week. James Bond themed party

Great time last night at the Park Plaza Hotel when we held a James Bond themed evening for Mastercard.  lots of props and Hamish Birchall and his band playing all the James Bond theme tunes.

What a send off!

One of our trumpeters was required to provide a fanfare to send off a Eurostar train at St Pancras Station this month as Eurostar were doing a promotion.  He had a lovely time and so did the passengers who weren't expecting to be serenaded quite so regally on their trip to France.
